Blue Light Special!

At the last council meeting (Jan 5, 2015) I thanked several residents and Council (Sue Truesdale , Denise Leslie, Donna Fooks and John Wilwert) for displaying “Blue” lights out front of their homes in support of Law enforcement.   Councilman Camma then informed all of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, which was on Jan 9, 2015.

What happened next I was not expecting!!!!!

Harry Seth of American Legion post 94 came up to me and said he was going to try and get a donation from Post 94 for blue light bulbs for our residents.  Councilwoman Leslie approached too , and said she would also work on it with Post 94 as well.   As a result, Post 94 did make a generous donation to buy “Blue Light” bulbs.

In the meantime several Brookhaven residents went out and bought blue bulbs on their own and started displaying them (Thank you).

With the great support in Delaware County there has been a lot of “Blue Light” bulbs being bought, and are now hard to come by.  That didn’t stop Councilwoman Leslie.   She contacted Dale Kerns of RE-VOLT ELECTRIC who, along with Post 94, donated “Blue lights”.   Ms. Leslie then continued the campaign and has been (blue) lighting up Facebook to make residents aware.

If you are a Brookhaven resident and want a “Blue” light bulb, stop up the station  Monday – Friday during business hours.  You might want to call first, they are going fast!!!

To all involved we, the Brookhaven Police Officers, can’t thank you enough!!!!
