The Brookhaven Borough Hometown Hero Banner Program is a living tribute created for the community to recognize and honor Veterans who are serving or have served our country in the United States Armed Forces.

To qualify, a Veteran, living or deceased, must have had a connection to Brookhaven Borough (lives or lived in the borough or is related to someone who lives in the borough) at some point in their life; also, those honored on war memorials within the community and Veterans recommended by Organized Veterans Groups, such as, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League, Vietnam Veterans of America, etc.

The banner will be 30” x 60” heavy vinyl, printed the same on both sides, will display the service person’s photograph, include their full name, branch of the military, and the era of service (WWI, WWII, Vietnam, etc…). Banners will be displayed on a date to be determined.

Banners will be removed and stored until the same period in the following year at which time they will be re-displayed.

Each banner requires the Hometown Hero Banner form to be filled out, a photograph of the hero (preferably in uniform) and a payment of $78.00 for each banner, payable to: “Brookhaven Borough”; in the memo indicate “Hometown Hero”.  Drop the check off to Brookhaven Borough, 2 Cambridge Road, Brookhaven PA 19015, no phone payments/credits cards can be accepted.  The deadline for accepting completed applications with payment is end of business AUGUST 16th and the install should begin mid-September.    Anything received after AUGUST 16th will be taken but will not be installed until Spring 2020.

Questions concerning qualification or application, contact the Councilman Terry Heller at (484) 477-5364 or terry.heller@brookhavenboro.com.
