Drew started his service in the Army on June 28, 1967 and became a member of the 9th Infantry Division of the 47th Infantry

Drew was drafted 2 days after his marriage to Geraldine Margetich of Chester.

Drew was born August 15, 1947, to Andrew Brinzo, Jr. and Dorothy (Michael) Brinzo & grew up on Greenwood St. with his sisters: Gayle Brinzo Morris, Debra Brinzo Westbrook, and Michelle Brinzo.

Drew attended Brookhaven Grammar School on the Southwest corner of Edgmont Avenue and Brookhaven Road and then the new Coebourn Elementary School.

Drew was a 1965 graduate of Sun Valley High School.

Before being drafted, Drew worked as a lineman for Bell Telephone Co. & also attended Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia.

Drew and Geraldine

While in Vietnam, Drew spent down time volunteering at the local Orphanage.
Drew was a radio operator participating in Operation “Truong Cong Dinh” in the aftermath of the Tet Offensive, Spring 1968.

Five days before Drew and Geraldine’s first wedding anniversary, Drew was killed in action in MeKong Delta, South Vietnam.

He was 3 months short of his 21st birthday.

The funeral procession was five miles long.
