In response to moderate drought conditions and increased fire risk, Brookhaven Borough, in coordination with the Brookhaven Fire Company, has issued a temporary burn ban effective immediately.
PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES:
1) Outdoor burning of fire pits (including propane) and chimineas
2) Open flames of any kind
3) Use of fireworks of any kind to include sparklers
Exceptions:
1) Propane, natural gas, charcoal grills used for cooking, provided they are always attended and fully extinguished after use.
2) Residents are asked to refrain from the use of approved recreational fires.
Penalties: Violating this ban may result in fines and other penalties as outlined by local ordinances.
The ban will remain in effect until conditions improve, and residents will be notified of any changes. Please stay safe and help protect our community by observing this Burn Ban.
