Joseph Paolucci

6/11/1926 – 10/7/2021


Enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1944

Joe was a member of the 77th Infantry and served during WWII. He saw action in the Pacific Theater including the Battle of Okinawa.

Joe was awarded: the Army Occupational Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the WWII Victory Ribbon.

Joe was born in West Philadelphia and graduated from Overbrook High School.
After the war, Joe worked for Boeing Vertol as an Industrial Engineer for 25 years using skills developed salvaging aircraft in Japan. Joe retired in 1992.

Joe moved to Brookhaven to John Drive with his wife Marie (Wetzel) and daughter Dora and lived here for the next 50 years until his death.

Joe was an active member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Wallingford, PA ~~ He was a volunteer for 20 years with City Team in Chester, PA. 

Joe was an avid tennis player and played regularly until the age of 94 ~~ He also was artistic, painting many pictures.

For Joe’s 2nd trip, he went with the Honor Flight Organization. This group celebrates America’s veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation’s memorials.
Joe was very proud to have his Hometown Hero Banner displayed.
Joe faithfully picked up surplus food from local grocery stores to deliver to City Team.
Joe enjoyed the car show on his 95th birthday.
