Keeping Kids Safe: Penn-Delco Launches BusPatrol Safety Program

To help combat reckless driving around school buses, Penn-Delco School District is partnering with Aston Township, Brookhaven Borough and Parkside Borough to launch the BusPatrol Safety Program. This safety initiative adds photo enforcement technology to all school buses to detect the license plates of vehicles that fail to stop for school buses, with the goal to keep children safe as they travel to and from school. The video evidence is shared with local law enforcement for review before a notice of violation is issued.  The penalty for a first-time violation is $300.

The Brookhaven Police are finishing their onboarding and training and will be ready to enforce the BusPatrol Safety Program when it goes live on September 2, 2025.
