Following the Sustainability Committee’s recommendation, Borough Council, during the September 2026 Council Meeting, unanimously passed Resolution 2026-014 opposing a proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal on the Delaware River waterfront in Delaware County.
The facility would process natural gas daily for export and pose significant public health, safety, and environmental risks. Given Brookhaven’s proximity to the proposed locations in Chester and Eddystone, the borough could be directly affected. We are happy to stand with neighboring communities in opposing LNG development in Delaware County.
