We’re Looking for People Who Want to Make a Difference in Brookhaven!
The Brookhaven Recreation Board is about more than planning events. It’s about building community, creating connections, making memories, and bringing people together. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about our borough and genuinely want to roll up their sleeves and get involved!
What makes a great Recreation Board member?
- Someone who takes initiative. You’re not just there to attend meetings. You’re excited to get involved, help lead events, and turn ideas into reality.
- Someone who brings fresh ideas. We love creativity, new perspectives, and people who aren’t afraid to think outside the box!
- Someone who believes in teamwork. Supporting one another, encouraging fellow volunteers, and working together toward a common goal are what make great things happen.
- Someone who puts the community first. Our mission is to serve ALL of Brookhaven, from our tiniest residents to our senior citizens, and yes, even our four-legged friends!
- Someone who wants to make a positive impact. Whether it’s organizing a new event, improving an existing tradition, or simply lending a helping hand, every contribution matters.
Above all, we’re looking for people who show up, follow through, lift others up, and believe that a strong community is built by people who care enough to get involved.
The Recreation Board is a place for collaboration, encouragement, inclusivity, and action. We’re here to create opportunities for residents of all ages to connect, have fun, feel welcome, and take pride in the place we call home. You don’t need to have all the answers or years of experience. You just need a positive attitude, a willingness to contribute, and a heart for Brookhaven.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about any one person. It’s about what we can accomplish together for our entire community.
If you are interested in serving on the board, please send a letter of interest via email to the Borough Manager: John.wilwert@brookhavenboro.com
