Find your volunteer role at Brookhaven Fire Company!
Brookhaven volunteers have different backgrounds, careers and skills, but what we have in common is a desire to serve the community. No prior experience is required. We’ll provide training and gear!
What volunteer role is right for you?
Firefighter – Firefighters perform all functions related to fire suppression and rescue operations, including interior fire suppression, search and rescue, vehicle fires or accidents, hazmat incidents and more.
Exterior Firefighter – Looking for an adrenaline rush without entering burning buildings? As an exterior firefighter, you can assist outside by establishing a water supply at the fire scene, setting up ground ladders, stretching hose lines and general ground support.
Junior Firefighter (ages 14-17) – Begin training to become a firefighter by learning the equipment and techniques used by our fire company. At 16, you can start Firefighter I courses at the local fire academy and help on fire calls.
Contributing Member – Contributing members help the fire company operate efficiently and effectively by assisting at community events and fundraising.
