PSA: COVID-19 UPDATE: The budget committee met tonight in executive session (Via Zoom) along with the Council President and Mayor to discuss postponing certain expenditures in preparation for a possible COVID-related budget shortfall. We were able to come up with considerable savings without affecting borough services and with no impact to staffing. With potential decreases in EIT and mercantile tax due to rising unemployment and the temporary closure of some businesses, we acted to prevent any financial impact to our residents. Bi-weekly budget committee meetings will be held until we are confident that our residents will shoulder NONE of the burden.
