Ed Eaton Park is located on a 2-acre lot located on W. Maple Avenue near Mt. Vernon Avenue. There are 2 entrances to the park, one via Maple Avenue and the other is a walk-in entrance next to Bateman-Allen Funeral Home on Edgmont Avenue.
ED EATON PARK was previously named Edgmont Park.
In the mid through late 1970’s, tennis courts, basketball courts, shuffleboard courts, and a tot lot were added. Water drainage problems were corrected, trees were trimmed, and new lights were added. So in 1979, Brookhaven’s Recreation Committee thought a dedication of a new name was in order…..the park was renamed to Ed Eaton Park after Thomas “Ed” Eaton, the first Burgess/Mayor of Brookhaven, Chief of the Fire Company, and at the time, the oldest living resident in Brookhaven.
Throughout the years, the park has added a Snack Bar with bathrooms and a walking trail; included events like Books on Blankets Outdoor Story Time and Concerts in the Park. In 2015, Coebourn Elementary’s PTL donated the playground when the new school was under construction.

Rededication Ceremony – June 16, 2018
By 2016, it was obvious that Ed Eaton Park required some well needed improvements. State Representative Leanne Krueger was able to obtain a $280K grant for upgrades to the park, including: snack bar building with storage and bathrooms, rain garden in front of the snack bar, covered pavilion, bocce ball court, horseshoe pits, and 1/5-mile walking trail.
On June 16, 2018, the largest park in the borough was rededicated with a ceremony that included a musical program, a speech from Rep. Krueger, and an introduction of Lee Eaton, Ed Eaton’s son.
