8/2/1926 – 2/4/2023

Betty was born in Lake Ariel, a small town in upstate Pennsylvania. After high school, Betty moved to the Brookhaven area for better employment, working at companies such as Fibre Metal and Scott Paper. Betty and her husband Bill moved to Brookhaven and raised their 2 children, Peggy and Gary on Coebourn Blvd.
In 1981, Bill died of cancer. Betty wanted to give something back to the medical center that took such good care of him. She started volunteering at the ICU Family Reception desk in Crozer Hospital and she never looked back!
Caring

Some fellow volunteers who worked closely with her at the Borough Hall called her “Mom”
Many in the Community referred to her as “Aunt Betty”

Betty’s Scrapbook was filled with memories of both happy and sad times from the town she loved so much

Here’s Betty in Brookhaven’s Holiday Parade and with some members of Town Watch.
She was instrumental in the startup of Brookhaven’s Town Watch in 1995.

At the Brookhaven Town Watch’s 9/11 Memorial Service on September 11, 2024, the walking trail was dedicated and renamed as the Betty Kelley Memorial Walking Trail. Her family was in attendance.
